Age Restrictions and Verification
- It is a criminal offence in the UK to sell alcohol to anyone under the age of 18, or to purchase alcohol on behalf of someone under 18.
- By placing an order online or over the telephone, purchasing in our shop, or visiting our taproom, you confirm that you and any intended recipient are at least 18 years old.
- Telephone Orders: We are unable to take orders over the phone for delivery unless you have an existing account with us and we have previously verified your age.
- We operate a strict "Challenge 25" policy across all our sales channels. If you appear to be under 25, you will be required to show valid photographic ID (such as a passport or driving licence) before we can serve you or deliver your goods.
- If valid ID cannot be provided, we will refuse service and our couriers will refuse delivery.
-
Orders, Licensing, and Contract Formation
- Licensing Override: All sales of alcohol are subject to the Licensing Act 2003 and the specific conditions of our Premises Licence. We reserve the right to refuse service, reject an order, or cancel a delivery at any point if we reasonably believe that completing the transaction would result in a breach of our licensing conditions or statutory duties.
- Contract Formation: When shopping online, an order is only considered accepted, and a contract formed, when we despatch your goods and send you a despatch confirmation email. This email also serves as the durable medium confirmation of your contract terms as required under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. We recommend you retain this email for your records.
- All prices shown on our website include applicable UK VAT.
- We reserve the right to cancel any order prior to dispatch for reasons including lack of stock, pricing errors, failed age verification, or suspicion of fraudulent activity. If we cancel your order, a full refund will be issued.
-
Delivery Policy (Online Orders)
- Delivery Area: Our standard delivery area covers mainland England, Wales, and Scotland. Due to the fragile nature of our products, we do not currently deliver to Northern Ireland or further afield.
- Licensing Conditions for Delivery: To comply with our licensing obligations, alcohol will only be delivered to residential or registered business addresses. We will not deliver to public spaces (such as parks or streets). If our courier cannot verify the age of the recipient via our Challenge 25 policy, the delivery will be refused and the goods returned to us. Packages containing alcohol cannot be left in a safe space.
- Costs and Timescales: Standard delivery is free on all orders over £60. Orders under £60 are subject to a £10 delivery charge. Orders are typically despatched within 2 working days of receipt and are despatched Monday to Thursday. Deliveries are made Monday to Saturday between 0800 and 1800.
- Failed Deliveries: If a parcel is returned to us due to repeated failed delivery attempts or failed age verification, we reserve the right to deduct the original shipping cost and a reasonable restocking fee from your refund.
-
Shop and Taproom Sales
- In-Person Purchases: Contracts for goods purchased in our physical shop or taproom are formed at the point of payment.
- Premises Licence Enforcement: Our premises operates strictly in accordance with our Premises Licence. Our staff have the absolute right to refuse service or ask individuals to leave the premises if they believe a customer is intoxicated, behaving in a disorderly manner, purchasing alcohol on behalf of a minor (proxy purchasing), or otherwise acting in a way that could compromise our licensing objectives.
- Fresh Poured Beer: Freshly poured beer from our taproom (including growlers and mini casks filled on-site) is classified as a highly perishable good. As such, these items cannot be returned or refunded if you simply change your mind.
-
Brewery Tours
- Booking and Attendance: All tour attendees must be 18 years of age or older, and our Challenge 25 policy applies.
- Health and Safety: As this is a working brewery, all tour participants must wear flat, closed-toe footwear. We reserve the right to refuse entry to the brewing area if appropriate footwear is not worn, or if a participant is intoxicated prior to the tour.
- Cancellations: If you need to cancel or reschedule your tour, you must provide at least 48 hours'; notice for a full refund or to rebook. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice are non-refundable.
- Group Bookings and Private Hire: Separate terms apply to group bookings of 8 or more persons and private hire events. A deposit may be required to secure a booking, details of which will be provided at the time of enquiry. Deposits are non-refundable if the booking is cancelled with less than 7 days' notice. Full details are available on request.
- Participation Risk: Our brewery is a working industrial environment. By attending a tour, you acknowledge that you are voluntarily participating in an activity that involves inherent risks, including uneven surfaces, moving equipment, and the presence of hot liquids. We take all reasonable precautions to ensure your safety; however, we ask that you follow all instructions given by our staff at all times. Nothing in this clause limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
-
Gift Vouchers
- Gift vouchers can be redeemed online, in our physical shop, or for brewery tours (subject to availability).
- Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Expired vouchers cannot be redeemed or refunded.
- Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash, and no change will be given for purchases made that total less than the voucher's value (though the remaining balance can be used for future purchases).
-
Promotions and Discount Codes
- From time to time, we may offer promotional discount codes ("Promo Codes") which may apply to specified purchases made through the Website.
- Unless otherwise expressly stated in the terms of a
specific promotion:
- Promo Codes cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, discount, or subscription.
- Promo Codes are non-transferable, have no cash alternative, and cannot be applied to previously placed orders.
- Only one Promo Code may be used per transaction.
- We reserve the right to withdraw, amend, or cancel any promotional offer or Promo Code at any time and without notice, particularly in the event of suspected fraud, misuse, or technical errors.
- If you return items purchased using a Promo Code, your refund will reflect the discounted price paid, not the full retail price.
-
Subscriptions and Recurring Orders
- We may offer subscription services or recurring forward-commitment orders ("Subscriptions") which provide a discount based on a commitment to receive a specific number of deliveries.
- Subscription discounts are shown clearly on the website.
An example of a common subscription discount structure
is as follows:
- Commitment to 3 deliveries: 5% discount per order
- Commitment to 6 deliveries: 10% discount per order
- Commitment to 12 deliveries: 15% discount per order
- Changes, Rearrangements, and Extensions: Active Subscriptions cannot be directly modified, rearranged, or extended. If you wish to change the terms of your Subscription, you must cancel your current agreement and initiate a new one. Amendments such as delivery address changes may be accommodated at our discretion.
- Cancellations and Fees: You may cancel your Subscription via the online customer portal. However, if you cancel an active Subscription before fulfilling your agreed delivery commitment, a cancellation fee will apply.
- Calculation of Cancellation Fee: The cancellation fee is calculated by reverting your previous orders to the discount tier that corresponds to the actual number of deliveries you received and charging you the difference. (For example: If you commit to 12 deliveries at a 15% discount but cancel after receiving 4 deliveries, your completed orders will revert to the 3-delivery tier of a 5% discount. You will be charged the 10% difference for the 4 orders already received). By agreeing to a Subscription, you authorise us to charge this cancellation fee to your original payment method.
- Pausing Subscriptions: You may pause your Subscription via the online portal, subject to the active rules and limitations set out within the portal at the time of your request.
-
Returns, Refunds, and Cancellations (Online Orders)
- Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to change your mind and cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving a reason. This right applies to online and telephone orders only. It does not apply to goods purchased in person at our shop or taproom.
- Packaged Alcohol: You may return unwanted bottles or cans within 14 days of delivery, provided they are strictly unopened, have all original seals intact, and are in a resalable condition.
- Merchandise: Apparel and accessories can be returned within 14 days of delivery provided they are unused, unworn, unwashed, and in their original packaging. We cannot accept returns on items where hygiene seals are broken.
- Faulty Goods: If your product arrives damaged, or you believe a beverage is "corked" or spoiled, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery or opening. We may ask for photographic evidence of the damage in the box or ask you to return the faulty bottle for testing. If verified, we will offer a replacement or a full refund.
- You are responsible for the cost of return shipping unless the item is faulty.
-
Product Characteristics
- Beer is a natural and agricultural product. While we strive for consistency, minor variations in colour, aroma, flavour profile, and haze may occur between batches.
- For certain beers, the specific vintage, batch number, or ABV may vary slightly from the website image or description as stock rotates. ABV will always be maintained within standard UK statutory tolerances.
-
Allergens and Dietary Information
- Packaged Products: Most of our beers contain allergens, specifically cereals containing gluten (such as malted barley, wheat, and oats). We may also occasionally brew beers containing other allergens (such as lactose).
- Customer Responsibility: Allergen information is clearly listed on the individual product pages on our website and printed in bold on the physical product labels. It is your responsibility to read the website description before placing an order and to check the physical packaging before consumption to ensure the product is safe for your dietary requirements.
- Taproom and Tours: If you are visiting our taproom, shop, or attending a brewery tour and have a severe allergy, please inform a member of our staff before ordering drinks or food. While we take precautions, our brewery and taproom handle large amounts of gluten-containing ingredients, and we cannot guarantee a 100% allergen-free environment due to the risk of airborne cross-contamination.
-
Our Liability to You
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any matter where it would be unlawful to restrict liability.
- Subject to clause 12.1, our total liability to you under or in connection with these terms shall not exceed the total price paid by you for the relevant order.
- We only supply goods under these terms to consumers for domestic and private use. If you use the products for any commercial, business, or resale purposes, our liability to you will be strictly limited and our separate Trade Terms and Conditions will apply.
