Last week, James and I headed over to the Broadland Food Innovation Centre for their Pairings and Producers evening, arranged and hosted by Tracey Colley from the Academy of Cheese.
The event brought together some of Norfolk’s finest makers under one roof for an evening of cheese, craft drinks and conversation.
We were delighted to be there along with Sveinns Hamlet Vineyard, St Giles Gin, Eufloria, Norfolk Rum, Oichi Kombucha and Downham Cider – quite the Norfolk line up!
An Evening Built Around Pairings
The evening was hosted by Tracy Colley, founder of the Academy of Cheese - and if you don’t know Tracey, she’s something of a legend in the cheese world.
Her talk was nothing short of inspirational, introducing the academy and what they’ve done to promote education and qualification in the production of cheese.
It was followed by an immersive tasting session, matching the carefully selected cheese producers at the event with the drinks and snacks on offer from other local producers.
It was the kind of evening where you start with a plan to try everything methodically and end up just following your nose from glass and cheese to the next - but that made it all the more enjoyable!

Until the Next One
If you ever get the chance to attend an event at the Broadland Food Innovation Centre, go!
Whether you’re a producer, a food lover or just someone who appreciates food, drink and good conversation, they host a wide variety of events – and you’ll leave with more that you arrived with.
A massive thank you to the team at the Broadland Food Innovation Centre for inviting us down and putting on such a brilliant, community-filled evening - and to all the producers who brought their delicious produce.
We can’t wait for the next one!
